Cold Summer Days

Not much going on here lately. It's been kindof cold out the past few days so we've stayed indoors more than usual. The weather report said it was only to get into the 60's today! BRRR! But next weekend, they're forcasting 80's!!

Brady has become really clingy with me recently (within the past 5 days). I don't know what it is. He also has been crying himself to sleep and crying when he wakes up. If he doesn't know where I am, he cries, "Mama go? Mama gone!" Perhaps he's teething? I think that's always my excuse though. Thoughts?

Dylan is proving to be quite ticklish!! Without a shirt on, he'll laugh if I tickle his tummy and chest. Also he has ticklish feet! They definitely take after their daddy. I am certainly not as ticklish as they are!

Brady has been requesting a sing along Easter book we have for bedtimes and naptimes lately. It's called, "Hop Along Bunny". Each page the bunny is doing something different. "See how the bunny wiggles his nose, wiggles his nose, wiggles his nose. See how the bunny wiggles his nose, on an Easter Morning." Anyway... Brady has taken to getting on the floor and pretending he's the bunny. Trying to Hop Along or Wiggle his Tail. The wiggling of his tail is hilarious! He gets on all fours and shakes his butt from side to side! HAHA! What a kid!

Big Shoes to Fill

Daddy came home last night from an extended trip to Portland. Well it was a shortened version of an extended trip. (That doesn't sound right) He left on Saturday afternoon and was supposed to come home Tuesday night. Well, he came home late Monday night instead. Yipee!!

Anyway, Brady was allowed to stay up for his Daddy's homecoming. He was super excited to see him. He loves his daddy and aparently wants to be like him!

Brotherly Love

I never get pictures of the two boys together. But finally, on Sunday I was able to snap a few shots of them. Note that they're not super close to eachother cause aparently Brady has a "Brady Bubble" as you'll notice. He'll only allow Dylan near him on his terms.

Brady doesn't realize that happy Dylan has been placed next to him as he studies the remote.

Now he notices... "Get him away from me" (is what he would say if he could)

No Shorts Here

I'm taking a beating here! I have 9 bruises on my legs... count 'em NINE! Black, Blue, Brown, Green and Yellow! Most of them are from the infant carseat hitting me while I carry it. The rest I'm sure are from Brady climbing around on me. He is a "solid" kid ya know. I'm guessing around 35 pounds or something. Perhaps one on my knee is from crawling around washing my hardwood floors.

Oh well. If that's what comes with being a mother, I'll take it!

SO CUTE! Earlier in the car today, I was singing this to Dylan who was crying because he was hungry. Aparently Brady was paying attention. Out of the blue he started singing this when Dylan was fussing at home. It took me a second to realize what he was saying until he got to the hurry part. He sure picks things up! He also has been singing the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme song (including the short musical break between verses). I LOVE IT!

Starting again...

Not only am I starting a new blog after over a year of not blogging, but I'm starting over on this first post for the 3rd time. I keep accidentally erasing my posts once I'm finished with them! So frustrating! I swear this is the reason I stopped blogging when Brady was like 9 months old. I struggled with the formatting of this site.

So, Brady is now all grown up. Well, not quite... but he'll be 2 in a month. I can't believe he's 2! I can't imagine what this next year has in store for us. He is quite intelligent! (But doesn't every mother say that about her children?) He knows his numbers from 1-15, and he knows the order of the whole alphabet! He knows all his colors and every kind of automobile! He is very funny with an abundance of very expressive facial expressions! I feel so lucky to have such a great son! He's a joy to be with.

Dylan is almost 3 months old! I can't believe it! As I was holding him tonight, I noticed just how big he's getting. He's a fairly easy baby. Of course, he cries really hard when he is hungry... but doesn't every baby? He sleeps really well. Wakes only once at night and has gone 1 night w/o any waking. He doesn't cry when he is put to bed, thank goodness! Dylan has a smile that can light up a room! His whole face lights up when he smiles and laughs. All I have to do is smile really big at him and he'll flash me one of his famous toothless grins! I love it!

Iraney (our sweet kitty) just had surgery to amputate 2 of her toes on her back left paw. If you didn't know, she had a blood clot lodge in her artery near her rear and it cut off blood flow to her hind limbs (called Saddle Thrombus). This was extremely traumatic and painful for her. It took her a couple weeks to regain use of both of her back legs. She stopped eating for 6 days on top of that. Well, her back left leg went without circulation for too long and two of her toes died. Luckily, after thorough cardiac analysis, we found out that she doesn't have a heart condition. Just hyperthyroidism, which we're now treating since finding out. Her amputation was last Wednesday and it went great! Unfortunately she will need to be confined to a crate or a small bathroom for 2 weeks since she's not supposed to walk on her bandaged foot. This is going to be a LONG 2 weeks! She hates being confined! Poor Nienie.

I'm slowly getting things done around the house. I'm in the process of painting the kitchen and family room. I'm at a stand still right now cause I'm waiting for my paint to go on sale at Sherwin Williams. Once the paint is done in there, we can install our new valances that were made for us! My future projects include, making huge frame boxes for the living room, refinishing the hutch (maybe), and installing chair rail molding in Dylan's room. If I didn't have two little boys keeping me busy, all of this would've been done by now. It's not every day that they both nap at the same time... so it's not every day I get to work on projects on top of regular home up-keep.
